What`s New in DC3000 Version 1.10?

New Features

1. Faster measurement & grading: Measurement duration can now be shortened by up to 75%, compared with previous measurement durations. A machine which has been configured to work faster will sound the calibration ‘ticks’ between measurements fewer times*.
   
2. Optional three color coordination representation. Brightness, the third color characteristic is calculated in addition to intensity (saturation) and hue. This is done when the new display mode, CIELab, is activated (can be configured if advanced mode is selected).
   
3. Added EGL (Israel) color grading scale*.
   
4. When in READY mode, last grading result can always be restored by pressing the SELECT key.
   
5. An improved mounted stone measurement was added. Both old and new methods of mounted stone color grading are applicable, depending on machine specific data* (see also Resolved Issues). If the new method is configured, the user will have to set the number of prongs as well as the ring metal type.
   
6. Post measurement SETTING for re-definition of either mounted ring type or small diamonds can be re-calculated by pressing SELECT.
   
7. A visual blinking indication was added to monitor the ‘white calibration tick’ sound. This enables the user to work in silent mode without compromising the white calibration indication. The indication is shown on the left-hand upper display line.
   
8. A visual blinking indication was added to monitor the operation of the UV lamp. The indication is shown on the right-hand upper display line.
   
9. Manual selection of the serial communication baud rate was added.
   
10. Up to 12 lab color grading scales may be defined, instead of 6 in previous versions*.
    
11. Damage to machine specific data will activate an automatic recovery process.
    Note: Such an event may occur if the machine is switched off while updating its specific data. The damage used to be reported with the message “PARAM ERROR (9) REPROGRAM”.
    
12. On power up, the dark calibration procedure will start automatically. This is done to ensure updated calibration data is used.
    

Resolved Issues

1. Automatic Integration and/or dark calibration will start only when the machine is in READY or RESULT display mode.
   
2. When dark calibration is completed, the result display, if it was shown before dark calibration began, is restored.
   
3. When prompted for UPDATE, after dark calibration, a delay in pressing the EXECUTE key will not result in erroneous dark data.
   
4. “REMOVE DIAMOND TO RESET WHITE” message disappears once the stone is removed.
   
5. Erroneous results in mounted stone grading was fixed.
   
6. Serial communication handshake (mainly with PC) is faster and more reliable to avoid un-responded messages sent from PC.
   

Backwards Compatibility

1. Hardware compatibility: Gran Colorimeter model DC3000.
   
2. Software compatibility: DC3000 software version 1.03 or higher.
   
3. Calibration compatibility: DC3000 software version 1.06 or higher. Upgrading from earlier versions requires a full calibration procedure, using qualified reference stones.
